CORC also owns and maintains the W8CMH D-STAR 145.49 and 444.000 repeaters which  has been upgraded to a G-3 (Generation 3) D-Star Gateway, as well as the K8NlO/R on 442.800 with 151.4 tone PL. The DSTAR registration page is at: https://w8cmh.no-ip.org/Dstar.do

The 146.76 Repeater is host to the Central Ohio Severe Weather Net (COSWN) in which amateur radio "spotters" relay weather information directly to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio, through a controlled net. This information is used to help the NWS in deciding where and when to issue severe watches and warnings. The Weather Watch holds it weekly training nets on Tuesdays at 7:30 during spring and Summer months on the .76 machine. The net is also brought up any time it is requested by the National Weather Service.

The 146.97 Repeater is the  Primary frequency for the Central Ohio Traffic Net (COTN) which meets daily at 7:15 PM. For more information click on the highlighted link above or read a informative letter HERE. The first alternate frequency is 146.76 . The second alternate frequency is 147.33

The 147.33 Repeater hosts the IRLP Node 8094 which links it to other nodes all over the world. Please refer to the IRLP page for more linking information.

Full Membership entitles you to use of the "CORC" repeaters, regular copies of the CORC Newsletter, and a vote at the Annual Meeting of the Corporation in the first quarter of the year.  CORC also has two other meetings, one in spring and the other one in fall

Your membership also insures that the directors have the funds necessary to repair, update and keep the repeaters on the air. This includes utility bills and normal operating expenses and equipment upgrades and replacements. We gladly accept donations also. CORC is classified as a 501c3 charitable organization by the IRS so donations are tax deductable. Please check with your tax professional for more details.

The Directors of The Central Ohio Radio Club would like to thank you for browsing this page and hope this information will answer most of the question you might have about the club.
CORC” owns and owns and maintains amateur radio repeaters on the 6 and 70cm. bands. The frequency and callsigns of these repeaters are starting on 2 meter, are: 146.76, W8AlC/R; 146.97, W8RRJ/R; 147.33, W8NBA/R. On 6 meter, we have the W8RRJ/R repeater on 52.70 with 3 inputs on 52.94, 51.70 and 53.70 and on 70cm., we have the 444.200, W8AlC/R  repeater. All Of these repeaters use multiple receiver sites on commercial towers to insure clear reception. All repeaters also encode 123.0 Hz. tone PL on the output and decode on most receivers. The exception is the 444.200 repeater which uses 151.4 Hz. encode and decode. For best reception and to insure accessing multiple receivers, please turn your PL tone on. These receiver sites are spread though out Franklin, Licking, Delaware and Logan counties. Please refer to the Site Info page for more information.

The 2026 schedule is up on the www.ae8fp.net web site, where the most up-to-date information is published!.
All tests are held on Saturdays!

All sessions will be PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY.
It is now an FCC requirement to have an FCC FRN; active email address and active phone number before taking any exam. Please bring your FCC FRN, original license, a copy of your license (if a licensed ham), a valid photo ID and $15.00 - Cash preferred.

The following information is for ALL exam sessions:
Effective April 19, 2022, the FCC will charge a $35.00 application fee for amateur radio licenses. The fee will apply to new, renewal, rule waiver, and modification applications that request a new vanity call sign. License upgrades will not have a fee applied. The fee will be per application. VE's will not collect the fees at exam sessions.
